MIN HUI FEN ROCKS
Saturday, September 30, 2006

I went to the Concert by her and SCO, she rock on stage and i love it! Despite her age, she can still deliver arts and music that touched my heart. My thinking has changed, age is not a barrier but more experience in delivering what she wants...i sat at the first row and was totally eaten up by her beautiful and powerful tone. Great Wall Capprico by her is amazing good. The strength and intonation of her erhu pierce through the entire hall. My money is worth as to see and hear one of the world's greatest erhu player.

Doyenne Min Hui Fen staging her 3rd "chang cheng shui xiang " concert with singapore. The first time i listen to her "xin hun bie" when i was secondary, i was touched and cried. The tune and sound produced from her erhu was mimicking crying of human being. That was incredible. I miss many concerts of hers- previously with SSO and City Chinese Orchestra. But this time i wouldnt miss it. I went to sistic counter to purchase the tickets, but the two cheapest range tickets are all gone, leaving behind the $50 and $80 one. I cant afford that! Thus i sms my Ruan teacher to see whether she can get cheaper tickets for me. In the end, she sponsor half the price of the $50 dollars ticket as a reward to motivate me to practise my ruan more. That is so kind of her!!! I was touched and thanks for her generous help. I will make sure i enjoy and benefit from the concert and yes practise my ruan for the nearing competition.

I went for the talk by Doyenne Min Hui Fen today at SCH with guangee. It was an inspiring night. Seeing her face to face, hearing her voice is quite tramatizing for me. It is the my first time see her after listening to her album since sec 2. Excitment succumbed me. Sitting there and listening to her talk about synopsis and reasoning for playing those pieces for the coming concert. She has already reached the peak of ARTS and MUSIC. In her life, she learn, she perform, she fight her cancer, she won and now she is here to perform for us. From her voice and the way she enjoy the applause, she borned to be on stage! Though i am not a erhu player, she manage to touch my heart with her 2 strings. Amazing! Looking forwards for her performancea and hope that she can come Singapore more often.
end of course feeling

Tomorrow will be the last day of my BM1 Course in OETI- a place where my automotive knowledge and skill are bornt. A place where we call it the " HEAVEN" in SAF. I have been there for about 6 consecutive weeks. BM1 course after Recovery course...all thanks to a dear colleague of mine. Not to mention his name, he escaped his every course due to his ridiculous medical reasons. Then no choice, i got arrowed.
I enjoy the slackness, learning and PC games in OETI...and i always play GEm fighter with billy during break. The fun part of attending course is i will meet a lot of new, interesting and funny friends like leonard. But soon i will be back OETI...for my MSCC( Maintenance Section Commander Course) early next year.

Going back to unit...with a different feeling and attitude because i have been shot many arrows behind my back when i am not at unit. It makes me feel lousy. Dont know what this people is doing? Pray that they approve my leaves so that i can attend the NAC competition that i had prepared for almost 1 year. The competition songs are challenging for me...as i only have 4years experiences on ruan. bit i will give it a try.

Sometime in life, you are not given a chance to change and be someone else. But i choose to do what i like and choose my life. It maybe difficult in the initial part, the achievement at the end of the journey will be unmeasurable. I move to ruan. A instrument that vibrate my heart and soul. Though friends around are not very supportive towards the change, i follow my heart and move on. Now, i am where i am. At least the effort i put in this years i can see a little changes. Not big but for me is a small achievement.

what is a metrosexual?
Saturday, September 23, 2006
The newly popular media and marketing buzzword seems to mean different things to different people, but in general, a metrosexual :

  • is a modern, usually single man in touch with himself and his feminine side;
  • grooms and buffs his head and body, which he drapes in fashionable clothing both at work or before hitting an evening hotspot;
  • has discretionary income to stay up to date with the latest hairstyles, the newest threads, and the right shaped shoes;
  • confuses some guys when it comes to his sexuality;
  • makes these same guys jealous of his success with the ladies -- for many metros, to interact with women is to flirt;
  • impresses the women who enjoy his company with the details that make the man;

    Among them:

    • his appreciation for literature, cinema, or other arts
    • his flair for cooking
    • his savoir faire in choosing the perfect wine and music
    • his eye for interior design
  • is a city boy or, if living a commute away from downtown, is still urbane, if not rightly urban;
  • enjoys reading men's magazines...

  • ...exacted from http://www.askmen.com/fashion/austin_100/102_fashion_style.html
    sec friends gathering- good old days
    Nice to meet up with my secondary school friends, i had been a very long time since we catch up at sushi tei which was like last year. Glad most of them were present. Initiated by tian kwan. Thanks a lot. Had fish at "fish & Co" and very very long chat. It was fun to bring back some good old memories that i had forgetten... Seeing eveyone is good and healthy is really a blessed to me after seeing more unfortunate happening to my other friends. Everyone shared their interesting life...being teacher(tiankwan), 8 to 5 officer( jonathon), slacking at home( chyesoon), busy with tuition and school (sutee) and having course(me). Jonathon having superb memory, brings back some interesting topic that i couldnt recall a single bit. I am old but still...survivng well...Haha. Jonathon...thanks for the recap!!! then move to the MAC near CPF building...starting to shift topic to playing mahjong. And jonathon and me shared our experience with sutee and the others ...clarfying some doubts.
    Then there was a cockcroach...which frightened Alan and sutee then the rest of us...It survival was strong despite our countless attack...hope to organise more session like mahjong session next time!!!

    ob sushi tei gathering
    Saturday, September 16, 2006

    After a very long time since meeting up at BALCONY, this is another gathering where OB had its full strength 7/7. Despite everyone busy schedule, we manage to catch up and had a wonderful and hilarious evening. We went shopping and then settled down in the SUSHI TEI @ Raffles City. A cool place indeed. Service is prompt and food is wonderful and delivered quickly. I love this place a lot...thinking back of our poly time, where we used to go TM Genki sushi to had our dinner and gossip session and now 1 year passed we are still doing the same things but moving to slightly more prestige place like "sushi tei".

    The food is very good- fresh! hot! & well presented to us. Especially the "DAI DAI"="gwangdai" was a highlighted dish by us today. We ordered twice and finished it all. Go try, it is very nice. Then no doubt we still have our photo session and gossip session that we used to have in the past. I think our noise level is still as high as before. Everyone shared their life's events- gossip about work, friends, people and even love. HIGHLIGHT will be regina being chased after by a 29 yrs old Korean guy. It is a nice things. Seeing friends found love and hope she will find it in the end. OB had formed by us and this click had a special bonding unlike other groups i met. we can laugh and mock at each others...shares our worries and anger...share life experiences and Gossip together. Think we need to find a day to celebrate ob anniversary!!! Plus ob mooncake fest gathering still on???
    Time flies
    Thursday, September 14, 2006
    Time flies, I am in National Service for a year plus. I cannot believe how fast things have been moving. Thinking back, I was still at Tekong thinking of what happen next and now a year has passed. This year a rather eventful and meaningful year for me as i see myself and people around me turning 21, means adulthood. It also means more responsibility. haha. Actually i kind of hate it. i would rather live in somewhere where responsibility and freedom do not have a direct link. "impossible".
    ~~~
    Last espisode of "my lovely sam soon" finished, many thoughts and feelings went through my mind. People tend not to follow how the heart feel but what the society care. In the show, brings out many morale that worth giving a thought to it. others might think i am crazy ...is just a Korean serial. Haha. I realise the strength of love, kinship and friendship in life make us fullest. And i like this part of their script:
    Sing as though no want is listening,
    Dance as though no one is looking,
    Work as though you do not need the money,
    Live as though today is your last day.
    This short para has brought up many problems in the urban world. People becoming timid and scared to take up challenges. They care too much about what the surrounding may look at them. hence many interesting and happening events are gone. Sometime, just try to let go and do whatever you like...Hope i can find it soon!
    KIM SAM SOON- best korean serial 2006 ( short, meaningful and touch my heart)
    eventful dramatic shopping day
    Sunday, September 10, 2006
    I went shopping with kuku this afternoon, as usual rain then sun then rain again. The weather changes suddenly without any pre-signalling. That is not the main point. Kuku with not enough sleep these few days..create a memorable day for her. First, we saw the the optictian mabelline long to see- "stephen" who previously work in OPTICAL 88 in Tampines Mall basement. He had moved to a even more high class place in Raffles City Basement...wearing suit. kuku was electricuted by HIM...then she also informed mabel about the "discovery". haha. Secondly, we went to this Japanese-designer shop..."embarrassment!!" happened. kuku accidentally broke the mug handle when she trying to put it back. I warned her about the difficulty as i tried before her, but she insisted and broke it. We approached the sales personnel in order to pay for the damage, however they kindly decline our payment and said "is ok!" We ran out of the shop and promised not to enter again!
Everyone holding different lifestyles and believes staying under one roof ( in a same room) and influence each other. a short 3 months but a life time bond. BROTHERHOOD!!!!
    A friend's bro passed away
    Monday, September 04, 2006
    Just heard about a polymate's bro had passed away. I was traumatised. "shock. curious. sad." what other words can i used?
    though i am not very close with him, still very concern for him. hope he can stand up and be strong. And face the cruel reality. Your family, friends and love one need you. You should not give up.
    Suddenly, grief drowned my heart. I have learn to cherish my relationship... and treat my brothers, parents and friends and relatives better. Time and people changes. Dont regret every single part of my life. Though there are some already. Live strong and dream on.
    Unpleasant Singaporean!
    Saturday, September 02, 2006
    Sometime, i just feel disgraced to be a Singaporean. WHY? too many reasons... the story goes:
    I was at the gym yesterday...quite packed as i usually went to gym after work. i saw dumbbells of different weights lying everywhere on the floor where guys to freeweight training. (it usually happen but yesterday ...there were a lot of them on the ground) Why cant those guys juz placed them back to the correct shelves after they used them...i was pondering. Cant really understand what is the culture here? Singaporean are becoming impolite, attitude and basic manners also gone despite the "millions smile" is it that difficultto put back the weights!!! hiaz...
    And more incidents where pregnant and old people onboard public transport...seldom see people give up seats for them...who need it more? reflect how we are bring up!
    Next best Korean Drama!
    juz finish watching "my lovely sam soon" dVd from my cousin. very touching and is the second time i go crazy for korean drama. first was when i was sec 4, the first "qiu tian de tong hua" that i weeped as i study my bio and chem. everyone said that i too emotional. what to do... is a natural instinct. Hate those who say man CANNOT cry.it is really very touching and emotional, and crying is not patent by woman. god born us fair. "my loely sam soon" is funny, special and touching...those havent catch it should start now. channel u 10-11pm, mon to fri. u will nv regret. " And outer appearance is not everything!"
    Work so hard on this html...really not my forte! i think i have to work harder and read up more about html. i work till midnight then manage to upload the songs and flash photo...quite a idiot towards that. going comex later to update myself on the latest technology. technology is moving so fast that human relationship is slowly drifting apart. but how to do? still have to live with it or coexist. i face computer to surf net, reply and read emails sometimes is much more than the time i spend with my family, that is quite sad. should cherish my kinship more...i shouldnt succumb in the cyber world...this apply to others too..(",)
