Another Relative from my paternal side passed away- 3rd Uncle ( after struggling with liver cancer in the hospital). My grandma actually give birth to 12 children and gave away 4 due to financial constrain in the past. And my dad actually is number the 11th.

I went to the wake on a few nights to show my last respect to him. I have a vague memory of him staying at grandma's house when i was there too due to chickenpox. And that was when i was 5. My paternal side is full of gamblers and money always broke the tie and relationship between them. Lending and returning money is the usual case of meeting up for them to settle their loanshark debts. And sad to say, i am not close to them....hence i kept asking questions so that i can know more about my origin.

Story begins....

My 3rd Uncle has a son named Zhong Kai, due to debts and other reasons, he sold him away to the nanny who take care of zhong kai for 3k. And consider disown his only son. Pretty sad. Zhong kai did not know that the parents taking care of him werent his real parents till he was about primary 6, when he had to show the birth cert for BCG injection. And he pretended he did not know about the truth till his dad passed away. His mum run away with another ang mo when she saw my 3rd uncle not doing- abandoning zhong kai at a very young age.

His nanny had change his last and first name in order to totally break off the tie....really bad.

My grandfather set the "jia pu" in order to keep the family tie....meaning my dad that generation is all call " chen gui ___" and my badge is all call "chen zhong___". But seems like it doesnt work very well.

Most of my cousin involved in gambling, debts, drugs, smoking and divorce. Come to know more and i feel a pinched in the heart, if i saw them on the road would i be able to recognize them. We are so not close to them.

On the first day of the wake, zhong kai's nanny revealed everything to him ( but he actually knows long ago) and it is so DRAMA. Zhong kai's elder sister( different mum) also come by but didnt want to pay respect to my 3rd uncle as she still bare the hatre that my uncle leave them when she was very young.

At the wake, it was quiet and my mum wanted us to go there so that more "re nao". What i learnt is that what you did when u are alive impact a lot of people.

My dream- gather everyone to take a family photo before everything went too late.
