On wed, my malay music class was cancelled last minutes, thus i agree to kuku's mahjong session with a newcomer ellow and walus. That couple lost quite a lot despite beginner's luck.
~~~
I got a bad cold after the late night McDonald ( i know is super unhealthy to eat mac then sleep). SO i give a miss to marketing channel 4hours seminar in the early morning 830am (which means i have to wake up like dammed fucking 6am to travel to school). Too tired. I missed it. Feel a bit guilty. But come to think most of my friend never go too. haha
~~~
Then fri comes, no choice, i cant skip anymore accounting tutorial since i miss it the other time as i attending grandma's wake. I need the participation marks...i drag myself to school but was late for 30mins...luckily Prof Goh was doing recap of past lecture...so still not that bad.
~~~
Then sat comes which is today, i set alarm to wake up at 640am to go work, and i woke up when shuyan called me at 745am....which i am dammed screwed. Still cannot acustom myself to hectic school and work life of me....oversleeping is not in my dictionary previously but now...what happen?
~~~
And also I am feeling heart aches since the mahjong session with chin, nancy and jackson the other day. The heart aches reappeared when i have some huge laugh and cough. OMG>>>is this chenchin' s virus. I think i need more cardio exercise to boost my heart's strength...am my health going downhill?
Last Memories

Tears rolled unwillingly across my cheek .
Memories of grandma and me flooded my brain as weeping sound encompassed the small tiny space around me. Everyone participating in the rituals and ceremonies was in deep sorrow- memories and flashback keep coming back. Aunts and mum weeped till their eyes were swollen and red. The entire event was a long one-5 hours. Life is short and fragile...and is so unpredictable. You are gone as the machine pushes the coffin into the fire. Everyone stood there and do nothing. Grief was filling up the whole heart when i saw that scene. It is torturous to stand there. Hope grandma can bless all her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren with prosperity and health.....

Laos Thai backpacking trip enriched me with true experience and memories much more valuable compared to the previous oversea trips i did. The previous ones are too superficial and shallow. This trip will be my first but not the last backpacking trip i going to do. I learn and grow and change in the trip. I started to Miss it- post travel sydrome. I should come out from my comfort zone and try more stuff and experience more stuff when my body still can handle. First time spending christmas and new year in oversea, i enjoyed that a lot as it is different from what i usually do in Singapore. Crossing over 2009 means there should be some changes to be done.
Here are some lists of things i wish to accomplish in this year.
  1. Read a book in 2 weeks. (After the trip, i feel that command of English is really Important.)
  2. Stage a ruan solo concert by end of the year
  3. Keep fit and toned despite do not need to take ippt
  4. Learn to dance and scuba dive
  5. Spend more time with family and friends
  6. 2 Backpack trips ( one to sydney and one to china if i have the budget)
  7. Save up and clear my debts ( i have not been faithtfully following this, I should abide my rule this year)
  8. Lastly, be a good student and teacher

All these seems too much to achieve, but is always good to have some plans in mind.

Laos Thai 18 days Backpack (half way done)

Departing Singapore Budget terminal. This is my first time here. The first photo i took in the entire trip.

We arrived in KL after a hour flight and we have to stayover in KL budget terminal (still under construction) so that we do not miss our morning flights from KL to Laos (Vietiane). We had to sleep in the foyer as the 24 hours McDonald crews decided to do some cleaning and chase us out in the middle of the night.

Finally, the sun rose and there we are boarding the budget plane to Vietiane (capital of Laos).
First day in Vietiane, after strolling around we managed to find one tourist momument where we can visit. We paid and climb our way up. It is not properly maintain as the ladder up seems like it will demental after a few tourists climb on it. Despite the above, the view was not bad. Photo below is a view from the buddha window grill.

Golden Stupa in Vietiane

We headed to the reservoir the next day after discovering that there is nothing to do in Vietiane. After hiring "tu tu", we arrived at the pier. The price to cross over to the island is too expensive, hence shayne and I had to bargain and bargain for a cheaper rate ( we read from the book), and what worsened the situation is only one middled aged waiter understands and speaks a bit of English. In the end, we managed to get over at a cheap price in the wooden boat below. Price reflects quality. The boat we taking is shown below.

A BOMB. Yah we saw it by the coastal of the island and we decided to take some photos as this is my first encounter with such a big bomb.

The haunted house we lived in. No electricity, hence we have to survived on 4 candles to light up the room. And there is only 4 people staying there-another british couple staying. Nothing to do on the island except rowing a boat around the island for sightseeing but the british couple had taken it leaving us nothing to do. Roaming around the haunted bunglow, we took naps and poker game in the night.
The next day, we travel by "tu tu" after "tu tu" and we managed to Arrive at Vang Viang ( happy town). The scenaries were unbelievably beautiful. These are some of the nicer photos.

First night in Vang Viang
WE spent our first night in a restaurant watching MI1 while other "falang" -europeans were watching Friends and Simpsons. It is really nice to lazzzzz around the cozy place, watch movies and have some food. I love it. so relaxed and peaceful.

2nd Day in VangViang (cycling day)
It was a day of CYCLING and A FULL day of Cycling. We went cycling with german father and son we met on the trip to vang viang. They are cool and we clinged on them to tour around the caves and cycle around the path. The path wasnt even with rocks and stones everywhere. It is not easy to cycle and the butt hurts like hell.

3rd Day in Vang Viang (cave tubing and kayaking)

The cave we went into for tubing. THe water is too cold for shayne and me that we shivered all the way in the cave tubing.
